Stunning Mid-Century Modern Italian Art Glass Compote Bowl Bring the warm, radiant glow of 1960s Italian design into your space with this authentic Empoli amber glass footed compote. Masterfully crafted using a blow-in-mold technique, this exquisite piece features a beautifully translucent honey-amber hue structured with elegant vertical optic panels that capture and diffuse light brilliantly. The wide bowl gracefully tapers into an artisan-tooled, wavy scalloped rim, balanced atop a slender bulbous pedestal stem and a flared, wide foot. A hallmark of true hand-finished Italian craftsmanship, the underside of the base boasts a distinctive polished pontil mark (ground smooth to form a glassy dimple). Whether styled as a retro tabletop centerpiece, a chic candy dish, or a standalone statement piece on a sunlit shelf, this beautiful compote is a must-have for MCM glassware collectors. Product * Origin: Hand-Blown in Empoli, Italy (Circa 1960s) * Design/Style: Mid-Century Modern / Optic Ribbed Paneled / Scalloped Edge * Color: Honey Amber / Golden Amber * Measurements: Approximately 9 inches tall by 6.5 inches wide at the rim * Weight: 1 lb 10.1 oz * Condition note: The exterior is beautifully glossy, but the interior has a slight, faint white cloudiness roughly a third of the way up from the bottom. I have not attempted to remove it with specialized glass cleaners, so it may or may not clear up with treatment. Priced accordingly!
